The Heights has plans that POP!

Lakewood’s newest townhome community is The Heights, situated on a hilltop location in South Surrey’s Grandview Heights neighbourhood.

Our visitors have told us how impressed they are with the size of our homes, and we are too. The display homes feature our 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom plans that include powder rooms on the main floor as a standard item. Wider plans are the hallmark of the concept at The Heights.

Architects took care to ensure that full-sized furniture would fit. “We are really pleased with the feel of the homes,” says Marketing Director Wayne Gervan, “the layouts are spectacular. New home owners can bring their king-sized beds and larger living room sectionals.”

The Evolution of the Carriage Home

Our new community in the Clayton Heights area is a collection of carriage homes called One92. It’s appropriately named because it is bound by two streets that are both named 192. Visitors to One92 often ask us -What makes a carriage home different from other townhomes? Here is a review of where the term carriage home came from and where it’s going.

It is thought that modern uses of the term carriage home refer back to the days of old. In England, reference to a carriage or coach house represented an outbuilding which was originally built to house horse-drawn carriages. Larger carriage homes often contained living quarters. Having a carriage home on ones property became a source of prestige during the era before the invention of the automobile.

As strata living has become popular in recent years, more options in strata home construction have been introduced. In modern carriage homes you won’t find any horse drawn carriages. They are usually a townhome like space, with parking below the living quarters.
